Supporting adults, adolescents and families through difficulty
Private Therapy in South London
Hello, and welcome.
I am an experienced clinical psychologist offering therapy to those seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and a clearer way forward through difficulty, uncertainty, or change.
People come to therapy for many reasons. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or navigating a period of transition. At times, there may be a clearer sense of anxiety, low mood, or the ongoing impact of difficult or distressing experiences. Therapy offers a dedicated space to step back from these pressures, to reflect, and to begin to make sense of what is happening.
A personalised approach
I work with a range of psychological difficulties and life challenges, tailoring the work to each individual. My practice is grounded in established, evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, Systemic Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. However, my emphasis is always on what is most helpful for you, rather than any single model.
The therapeutic relationship is central to this process. I aim to offer a space that feels both containing and purposeful: somewhere you can think openly, explore what may feel difficult to approach alone, and begin to develop a clearer sense of direction and understanding.
Experience across life stages
Alongside my work with adults, I also have experience supporting adolescents and families, which continues to inform my understanding of how people develop, relate, and adapt over time.
Over the course of my career, I have seen how therapy can lead to meaningful and lasting change - helping people to move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and a stronger sense of themselves.

Clinical psychologists are leaders in providing the highest quality therapy, aiming to reduce psychological distress and promote psychological well-being in clients.
Clinical psychologists are always trained to doctorate level through courses that focus on both research and practice. It is a legal requirement that Clinical psychologists register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), meaning that the title “Clinical Psychologist” ensures peace of mind that you are working with someone trained to the highest level.
Clinical psychologists have specialist knowledge of many different treatment approaches and are trained to help people with a wide range of different problems. This means that therapy is bespoke and driven by the client, rather than trying to fit the client into a specific model.

This will depend on what you would like to work on in therapy. I usually recommend we start with six sessions and review from there. After our initial session I can provide a better idea of how long we might work together.
-
No, you don't. I encourage an ongoing conversation about how therapy is going and how many sessions I think are clinically required.
However, if you feel ready to end therapy, please let me know as soon as you can, so that I can organise my schedule and communicate with others on my waiting list.
-
Regular attendance is important to provide the best opportunity for improvement and I usually recommend we meet weekly. To support this, I try to offer the same time slot each week.
-
I practice from a consulting room in central Brixton, however, I am also able to offer online therapy which can provide a bit more flexibility.

“I'm very lucky to have met Claire and I feel immense gratitude towards her and her work. Together through EMDR, we were able to process my childhood trauma that once felt unmanageable. Memories that used to overwhelm me now feel contained, and I can speak candidly about my past in a way I never thought possible.”
