Jane Hill
Psychotherapist
There are many reasons for seeking therapy. You may be feeling stuck, or sense that you are repeating unhelpful patterns, or struggling with aspects of your life and don’t know why. Perhaps you are dealing with loss, or navigating one of life's transitions and feeling overwhelmed. I will work with whatever you bring. I have experience with anxiety, depression, sexuality, chronic health conditions, addiction, perinatal mental health, relationship issues and work-related difficulties. I have a particular interest in trauma and the impact of our early experiences - how they shape our ways of being in the world and relationships.
I provide a quiet and confidential space where we can think about your feelings and what might lie behind them. I can help you make sense of how the past lives on in current experiences and relationships, including the relationship between client and therapist. The therapeutic relationship will become a key element of therapy as a safe testing ground for healthier and more fulfilling ways of being and relating to others. This can result in lasting change.
If you are thinking of starting therapy, I usually suggest a short phone call, followed by an initial face-to-face consultation during which we would get a sense of what it is like to work together and decide about on-going therapy. Therapy is once-weekly and generally on an open-ended basis.
